In the artists own words:

The inspiration for my sculptures comes from my fascination with “forms.” For me there is a special feeling that I sense in carving the stone. A personal response I feel to the intriguing and inspirational challenge of the aged old stone with its grain, density and color, which reveals to me a surprising hidden beauty. I sculpt for myself and I find there is nothing more satisfying than to express myself in stone.
